Consultations

All the information you need to know about your consultation with your Doctor.

OUR FEES:

We bulk bill all patients aged 15 years and under. We also bulk bill those patients who have a current health care card, full time university student card, pension card or Veteran Affairs card.

Our fees are determined by Practice Policy and are reviewed annually.  A regular upgraded list of our standard charges for routine consultations are displayed at reception. Our practice does not run in-house accounts and all consultations must be paid in full following your consultation. Some insurance medicals, pre-employment health assessments and bus/trotting licences also require payment on the day. These medicals do not attract a Medicare rebate.

We accept Cash, Cheques, EFTPOS & Credit Cards. If you have a genuine reason you cannot pay on the day, please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation.

*PLEASE NOTE: A fee of $20 will apply if you do not cancel your appointment.

AVAILABILITY OF DOCTORS BY TELEPHONE:

Doctors in this practice may be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours.  If your call is an emergency, it will be treated as such and you will be put straight through to a doctor.  When doctors are with a patient and the call is NOT an emergency, a message will be taken and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

TEST RESULTS:

Unless requested to do otherwise by your doctor, please contact reception between 9am and 5pm. Most tests take approximately three working days before the results are available after review by your doctor. It is the patient’s responsibility to contact the practice for test results.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS & REFERRALS:

If you require a repeat script you may make a script only appointment with a registrar doctor. These appointments are strictly to access a script & are not for routine appointments. These appointments will be bulk billed. Or to save any inconvenience, please remember to ask your doctor for any scripts you require during your consultation. If you require a referral to a specialist you must see a practice doctor.
